La tangente de l'angle ABC^, notée tan(ABC^), est définie par tan(ABC^)=ACAB.

Remarque

AC est la longueur du côté opposé à l'angle ABC^ et AB est la longueur du côté adjacent à l'angle ABC^ dans le triangle ABC rectangle en A.

Théorème

Soit ABC un triangle rectangle en A :
tan(ABC^)=sin(ABC^)cos(ABC^)
